Issues 2 and 3 of al-Jadeed Magazine, March 1989
The second and third issues of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951, issued in March 1989, under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqara and its editor-in-chief Ibrahim Malik, printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, and a painting by the artist Irina Kirkby titled "Eternal Spring" was printed on the cover. The two issues included the following: 1. The talk of the month is titled “Until the Mind Wins” by editor Ibrahim Malik. 2. A critical article titled “Shukaib Jahshan is a Poet Who Chose Directness and Clarity” by Hussein Mhanna. 3. An interview with Chinghiz Aitmatov titled “I Believe in Man” was translated by Fadel Jatkar. 4. A study titled “On the Shape and Content of the Ideas of Mohammad Amin al-Alem” by Mufeid Sidawi. 5. A critical article titled “A Reading in the Early Plans of Riad Baydas” by Fatima Muhsen. 6. A comparative reading titled “The Trial by Kafka and the Book of Job” by Ismail al-Mahdawi. 7. Presentation and criticism of Shukaib Jahshan’s poem “Tholth Qarn” (Third of a Century) by Farouq Mwasi. 8. A study titled “Henna Night: From the Folk Heritage of Palestinians” by Mahmoud Bakr. 9. A study titled “New Phenomenon in Modern Yemeni Poetry” by Hisham Ali bin Ali. 10. An article titled “Abderrahman al-Kawakbi, One of Our Arab Heritage’s Notables” by Fatima Musen. 11. An article titled “The Dream of Unity on the Catalan Coast (On the Salvadorian Painter, Dali)” by Zuheir al-Jazaeri. 12.
