Issue 8 of al-Jadeed Magazine, August 1986
The eighth issue of the al-Jadeed Magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1951 and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, was issued in August 1986 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqara and its editor-in-chief Salim Jabran. The issue included the following: 1. The introduction was titled "Emile Touma and the National March of the Arab Masses" by Salim Jabran. 2. Dr Emile Touma’s biography and writings. 3. An article titled “Emile Touma, Who Has Left Us, Remains in Our Hearts” by Meyer Fellner. 4. An article titled "Emile Touma - A National and International Heritage" by Tawfiq Toubi. 5. An article titled "Emile Touma's Studies on Social Movements in Islam" by Zahi Karkaby. 6. An article titled "Emile Touma and Arab Culture in Israel" by Habib Boulos. 7. A poem titled "Akher Ayyam Asheq al-Haya” (The Last Days of the Lover of Life) by Salim Jabran. 8. A study titled "Margins on the Novel of Emile Habibi (Ekhtayyeh)" by Abderrahman Yaghi. 9. A study titled "Political Parties in Iraq 1945-1958" by Abu Bashir. 10. A study titled "Jean Genet, why did He Love the Palestinian Revolution and its People" by the magazine's editorial board. 11. Poems titled "An al-Mawt Wa Ashya Okhra” (On Death and Other Things) by Abdelnasser Saleh. 12. Poems titled "Ma al-Lathi Yahdoth Ya Atfal al-Hara” (What is Happening, Children of the Neighbourhood" by Hayel Asaqleh. 13. A prose poem titled "Qalaat Asfari” (The Castle of My Travels) by Nidaa Khoury. 14. An article by Muhammad Ali Taha on a chapter of the novel "And it Will be in the Time to Come." 15. The eighteen short poems of the Greek poet Yiannis Ritsos titled "Songs of My Bitter Country". 16. News about newly released books. 17. Various cultural news.
