Issue 2 of al-Jadeed Magazine, February 1986
The second issue of the al-Jadeed Magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture founded in 1951 and printed at the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa, was issued in February 1986 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqara and its editor-in-chief Antoine Shalhat. The issue included the following: 1. The editorial titled "No Neutrality between Annihilation and Life" by the magazine's editorial board. 2. A study titled “Emile Habibi in his Novel (Ikhtayyeh)” by Afnan al-Qasim. 3. A study titled “May Ziadeh, the Rebellious Applied Melody,” by Salim Jabran. 4. A study in Marquis literature by Shawqi Fahim. 5. A study titled "Majid abu Sharar's Concerns in His Stories" by Nazih abu Nidal. 6. A story titled "The Statue" by Laila al-Othman. 7. A story titled "The Princess’ Princess" by Riyad Baidas. 8. A story titled "Prisoners" by Suhail Kiwan. 9. A story titled "I Want a Gun" by Mustafa Murrar. 10. A chapter from a novel by Italian writer Italo Calvino. 11. Poems by Hala Asaqla. 12. The poem "Ateni” (Give me) by Hussein Mhanna. 13. The poem "Jawhar Al-Insan” (The Essence of Man) by Muhammad Najm an-Nashef. 14. Five Poems by Yitzhak Vaknin.
