Issue 2 of al-Jadeed Magazine, December 1954
The second issue of the al-Jadeed magazine, a monthly magazine for progressive national thought and culture established in 1954, was issued in December 1953 under the supervision of its first editor Hanna Naqqara and printed in the Union Cooperative Press in Haifa. The issue included the following: 1. The talk of the month, titled “The Battle of Higher Institutes Students.” 2. An article titled "From the History of the Family among the Arabs" by Nicola Jabra. 3. An article titled “Two Conferences for Arab Writers in Syria and Lebanon” by Hussein Marwa. 4. A story titled "Jorm Among His Brothers" by Michael Hertford. 5. An article titled "The National Formation" by Maroun Abboud. 6. A Soviet story titled "The Protectors" by Alexander Volodin. 7. An Israeli story titled "Fire" by Samir Mared. 8. A poem entitled "European Goldfinch" by Harith Taha ar-Rawi. 9. An article titled "The Path of Soviet Literature". 10. Scientific, literary and cultural news.
