Handwritten by Sameeh Hammoudeh on 19 August 2006, this document shows an article titled "The Diaries of Khalil as-Sakakini and Their Importance as a Primary Source for Studying the History of Palestine", in which Hammoudeh illustrates the role of memoirs and diaries, including those of as-Sakakini, in chronicling the history of Palestine. Through as-Sakakini's diaries, one could for example gain an insight into the conditions of Jerusalem in the late Ottoman era, the relations among followers of the divine religions, how the Palestinian identity developed, in addition to the infiltration of western colonialism into Palestine.
