Biography of the Traditional Poet Abu Thabet al-Orabi
Handwritten by Njaeeb Sabri Yaaqba, this archival item documents the biography of the traditional poet Abu Thabet al-Orabi, born at Arraba village. The document includes traditional poetry verses he used to perform at social and national events including "Zaman Dawwar Beftel Methl Bakara... Tqolsh el-Yum Methl Bokra" (This Time Rotates Like a Pulley... Do Not Say that Today is the Same as Tomorrow). It is worth mentioning that Yaaqba wrote down traditional poetry and the path and experiences of Zajjals from different Palestinian villages, refugee camps and cities to collect the legacy of the land's Zajal and Hida and to inform people of the notables of Palestinian traditional poetry.
