"Bidding Farwell to Hind al-Husseini: a Virtuos Educationist", a Booklet, Jerusalem, 28 October 1994

Printed in Arabic, this archival item documents a booklet issued as a tribute to the late Hind al-Husseini (1914 – 1994) by the preparatory committee of the commemorative ceremony in Jerusalem on 28 October 199. This booklet contains the biographical information of Hind al-Husseini who was born in Jerusalem on 25 April 1916 and died on Tuesday, 13 September 1994 in Jerusalem and was inaugurated by words from Dr Hatim Isshaq al-Husseini who was the President of al-Quds University back in the day on 4 October 1994; where he expresses his gratitude to the committee who collected this booklet and continues remembering journey of devotion for the Palestinian people especially for orphans, people in need and children of shaheeds, furthermore, the committee encloses a collection of articles and statements by Hind al-Husseini previously published by the press, then a set of articles, written tributes and poetry by those who admired al-Husseini in addition to all telegrams of condolences some of which were published among local newspapers such as al-Bayader al-Siyasi and a telegram issued by the Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization “PLO” and the Palestinian National Authority, Yasser Arafat on 18 September 1994 saying that Palestine has known her as a prominent leader and servant of the Palestinian people aside from establishing  Dar al-Tifel Al-Arabi, the Women’s College of Literature, the Islamic Research Center and the Higher Institute of Islamic Arts and the Palestinian Heritage Museum and among those who bid farewell to al-Husseini were Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, George Habash and the family of Anwar Nusseibeh; Sari, Hatim, Saqer and Zaki, his daughters Saida and Munira and his wife Nuzha Nusseibeh.
