Interview with Sheikha al-Hathaleen, Protecting Cultural Heritage of Palestinians in Masafer Yatta Project, 25 September 2019
This video documents the interview Thahab abu Sabha conducted with Sheikha Hamid Salameh al-Hathaleen at the Umm al-Kheir area as part of the Protecting Cultural Heritage of Palestinians in Masafer Yatta Project, where al-Hathaleen talks about folk songs and when they are performed including weddings and circumcisions. She also mentions some customs, traditions, and social phenomena such as the bride’s dowry, the wedding ceremony, receiving well-wishers and preparing food for them. It is worth mentioning that the Project was executed by the Centre for Trust Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University in Britain in cooperation with the Palestinian Museum and Dar al-Kalima University.
