Interview with Jamil Awad, Protecting Cultural Heritage of Palestinians in Masafer Yatta Project, 12 August 2019

This video documents the interview Kawthar and Fatima Nawajaa conducted with Jamil Ahmad Elayan Awad at the Sadat al-Thaala area as part of the Protecting Cultural Heritage of Palestinians in Masafer Yatta Project, where he speaks about planting tobacco and the hardships they face, then moves on to talk about the control of the Israeli Occupation Forces and settlers on vast areas of fertile village lands. Moreover, since 2003 they have been able to extract a decision from the "Israeli Court of Justice" in Jerusalem to return half of the confiscated dunams, but they are unable to cultivate them because of the Israeli Occupation policies. It is worth mentioning that the Project was executed by the Centre for Trust Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University in Britain in cooperation with the Palestinian Museum and Dar al-Kalima University.
