The Diaries of Fandi Mhanna, Buqei'a- Upper Galilee, 1948-1950
This 125-page document shows the diaries of Fandi Mhanna from Buqei'a- Upper Galilee from 1948 until the end of 1950 inside an agenda, where he focused on social and political aspects of life since then, in addition to writing several poetry verses and a Hijri calendar. Mhanna mentioned some political events taking place at the time including the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) occupying Tiberias, Sheikh Jarrah Neighbourhood, Yafa City, Safad City, Akka City and the village of Tarshiha, he also mentioned that Palestinians liberated the city of Samakh and the surrounding colonies from the occupation on 18 May 1948 and destroyed the Occupation's biggest electricity factory in Palestine. He also talked about his participation in social life, as he visited villages to resolve disputes between families or collect charity to help the needy, as well as wrote down some financial accounts including debt he owns, the account of his market and others between him and his partners at the olive press.
