The Diaries of Fandi Mhanna, Buqei'a- Upper Galilee, 1991-1993

This 20-page document shows the diaries of Fandi Mhanna from Buqei'a- Upper Galilee for the years 1991-1993, where he focused on narrating the details of his daily, social, literary and political life. In this agenda, Mhanna addressed some of the political events, including the President of South Africa's announcement regarding overthrowing another law from a series of racial discrimination laws, the disclosure of the Israeli military contingent among the ranks of the Intifada disguised in the common Palestinian wardrobe and female clothes and the failure of overthrowing the Soviet Union. He also spoke about the peace conference that was held in Madrid that condemns the death of hundreds of children caused by disease and hunger due to the UN-imposed siege on Iraq.  In addition, Mhanna pointed out his visit to Beit Sahour to stand in solidarity and support the negotiating delegate. He also addressed the strike of the heads of the Arab local authorities in front of the building of the Head of the Government due to the budget deficits and deterioration in the economic situation. Mhanna also mentioned the direct involvement he has with the land, as he always weeded, planted and took care of the land. Additionally, he spoke about his father's health condition.  Regarding the social aspect of his diaries, Mhanna spoke about participating in social events held during that time. In addition to participating in different evening events like the evening event that was held for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in al-Hakawati- Jerusalem. He also participated in the Democratic Front's celebrations commemorating the 24th anniversary in the same place and the 40th year anniversary of Mousa Jibra'el's death and made a speech in memory of him. Mhanna also mentioned meeting artists and poets, and receiving invitations like an invitation for the al-Rawi Public Bookstore opening based in al-Maghar Village.
