Abdel-Rahman al-Haj Ibrahim Diaries, Tulkarm, 1946

Handwritten between 1 January and 31 December 1946, this document shows the diaries of Abdel-Rahman al-Haj Ibrahim for the year 1946, where he left some empty, and in others detailed his family, social life and the work he did to manage his orchard. His observations focused on his perseverance in performing prayers at the mosque, especially the Jum'a and Tarawih prayers, writing details about his health, notes about the visits he made to family and relatives, and his response to the invitations of his acquaintances to attend various social events. He recorded that he paid the subscription fees for the water and electricity services, as well as the taxes incurred by him to the municipality and the Governmental Finance Department in Tulkarem for properties in Tulkarem and Taybe. He also mentioned his keenness to send off and welcome pilgrims. Al-Hajj Ibrahim was keen to write down the most important work that he did, related to his possession of the Faza orchard on the seashore near Tulkarm and the village of Umm Khaled, in which he detailed his stay in the orchard and the supervision work he carried out, he took notes on the accounts and expenses of workers and artisans who work in planting, caring for and installing trees, and a record of the types of trees and crops planted in the orchard.
