Abdel-Rahman al-Haj Ibrahim Diaries, Tulkarm, 1948

Handwritten between 1 January and 31 December 1948, this document shows the diaries of Abdel-Rahman al-Haj Ibrahim for the year 1947, where he left some empty, and in others detailed his family, social life and the work he did to manage his orchard. His observations focused on his perseverance in performing prayers at the mosque, especially the Jum'a prayer, writing details about his health, notes about the visits he made to family and relatives, and his response to the invitations of his acquaintances to attend various social events. He recorded that he paid the subscription fees for the water and electricity services, as well as notes about his son, Salim's, return to Tulkarm, and that he received at his house several leaders of the Arab Liberation Army, including Mohammad Safa, commander of the 1st Yarmouk Regiment, Madlol Abbas, commander of the Hittin Regiment, and Amin Ruiha, a doctor in the army. He also jotted down some events related to the Nakba, such as the clashes with the Zionists in Tulkarm and the attack of the Zionist gangs on the village of Qaqun.
