Debt and Safe-Keeps Registration Book for Mahmoud Makhamreh, the Village of Jinba, 1886-1905

This document shows a book for debts and safe-keeps by Mahmoud Ahmad Makhamreh from the village of Jinba near Masafer Yatta, which is one of three books owned by Makhamreh and his grandson, Mohammad Younis, that document their shop in the village of Jinba. Makhamra recorded people’s debts and trusts in the period between 1886-1905 in the book. In 1966, the Israeli Occupation Forces demolished the shop, which continued to provide the population with supplies, textiles, cigarettes, grain, wheat, and other needs of the residents of the Masafer area, during that period. Also, before the occurrence of the Nakba, it was a shop frequented by the residents of Ber as-Saba', al-Naqab, and the neighbouring areas of the Masafer.
