The Shoe of Shaheed Imad Al-Anati Displayed at the '100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives' Exhibition, Feb 2001
This photograph shows a shoe that belonging to shaheed Imad al-Anati from Birzeit. who was murdered On October 1st, 2000, near the northern entrance to Al-Bireh. This item was displayed at the '100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives' exhibition, held at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah On February 20, 2001. which is taken by Isabel de la Cruz. the idea of the exhibition emerged weeks after the outbreak of the Second Intifada (Al-Aqsa Intifada) as a tribute to all those murdered in the struggle. However, as the number of shaheeds was exponentially increasing, the exhibition was limited to honoring the first 100 shaheeds representing all areas of Historic Palestine.
