The Sand Bottle of Shaheed Rami Gharrah Displayed at the "100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives" Exhibition, Feb 2001

This photograph shows the sand bottle that belonging to Shaheed Rami Gharrah from the village of Jitt in the Jalilee. On October 1, 2000, he participated in a protest with fellow residents, after it ended. he and some of his friends standing near the village entrance, where Soldiers of the Israeli occupation army started firing live ammunition, shot him in the head and murdered. This item was displayed at the "100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives" exhibition held at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah On February 20, 2001.which is taken by photographer Isabel de la Cruz, the idea of the exhibition emerged weeks after the eruption of the Second Intifada (Al-Aqsa Intifada) as a tribute to all those murdered in the struggle. However, as the number of Shaheeds was exponentially increasing, the exhibition was limited to honoring the first 100 Shaheeds representing all areas of Historic Palestine.;زجاجة رمل للشهيد رامي غرة من سكان قرية جت المثلث، شارك 1 تشرين الأول 2000 في مسيرة احتجاجية مع أهل قريته، وبعد أن انتهت بقي هو وأصدقاءه بالقرب من مدخل القرية، قام جنود جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بإطلاق الرصاص عليهم فأصيب غرة في رأسه مباشرة. وجدت القطعة ضمن مقتنيات معرض مائة شهيد - مائة حياة، الذي أقيم في مركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي في مدينة رام الله، في 20 شباط 2001، والصورة للمصورة إيزابيل دي لاكروز. تبلورت فكرة المعرض بعد مرور أسابيع على اندلاع الانتفاضة الثانية "انتفاضة الأقصى" ليكون بمثابة تكريم لجميع شهداء الانتفاضة، لكن بسبب تزايد أعداد الشهداء بشكل متسارع تقرر تحديد مجال التكريم بأول مائة شهيد يمثلون كافة المناطق في فلسطين التاريخية.
