The Basketball of Shaheed Nizar Eideh Displayed at the '100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives' Exhibition, Feb 2001

This photograph shows the basketball that belonging to Shaheed Nizar Eideh from Ramallah, whose family was forcibly displaced from Al-Ramla. On September 30, 2000, after leaving school, Eideh joined the confrontation between the youth and the Occupation Army Forces in Ramallah. until he injured and murdered. This item was displayed at the "100 Shaheeds - 100 Lives" exhibition held at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah On February 20, 2001.which is taken by photographer Isabel de la Cruz, the idea of the exhibition emerged weeks after the eruption of the Second Intifada (Al-Aqsa Intifada) as a tribute to all those murdered in the struggle. However, as the number of Shaheeds was exponentially increasing, the exhibition was limited to honoring the first 100 Shaheeds representing all areas of Historic Palestine.
