The Society of Inash Al Usra Congratulating Bassam Shakaa on Return from Trip to Amman for Treatment, 1981

Taken in 1981, this photograph shows members of the Society of Inash Al Usra congratulating Bassam Shakaa on returning home from his trip to Amman for treatment in the wake of the Israel Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him, leading to the amputation of his legs on 2 June 1980. Shakaa appears in the photograph sitting in a wheelchair and next to him are Reema Tarazi and Samiha Khalil.
