Taken on 25 December 1980, this photograph shows Bassam Shakaa with his wife, Enaya al-Fassed, taking his first steps on prosthetic legs at Stanmore Hospital in London, in the wake of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him on 2 June of the same year, leading to the amputation of both of his legs attempt.
