A Part of Bassam Shakaa's Court Trial, November 1979

Taken in November 1979, this photograph shows Bassam Shakaa standing trial before the Israeli Occupation Supreme Court in Jerusalem. It also shows Shakaa's wife, Enaya al-Fassed, the attorney Jamil al-Tarafi, in addition to Mohammad Milhem, Ibrahim at-Tawil and Karim Khalaf, mayors of the municipalities of Halhul, al-Bireh and Ramallah respectively, having a verbal altercation with an Israeli police officer. Such an altercation occurred after a court hearing was held to issue a ruling in the case of Shakaa's exile with the attendance of a crowd of people, lawyers, mayors of municipalities and foreign solidarity activists.
