Taken in 1980, this photograph shows Bassam Shakaa, mayor of Nablus, and his wife, Enaya al-Fassed, during a press interview in London on the sidelines of his trip for treatment, in the wake of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him, leading to the amputation of his legs on 2 June of the same year.
