Bassam Shakaa in Britain, 1980
Taken in 1980, this photograph shows a part of the tour of Bassam Shakaa, mayor of Nablus, of Britain on the sidelines of his trip to the country for treatment, in the wake of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him, leading to the amputation of his legs on 2 June of the same year. Shakaa appears in the photograph in the middle between Qusay Hashim and the pro-Palestine British actress Vanessa Redgrave during the screening of a film by her at a cinema in London.
