A Letter to Bassam Shakaa from Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister, 5 September 1980
Sent on 5 September 1980, this letter was addressed to Bassam Shakaa, mayor of Nablus, from Mohammad bin Ahmad al-Junaid, Deputy Prime Minister for Financial and Economic Affairs of the Arab Republic of Yemen, on behalf of Ali Abdullah Saleh, President of the Republic, via the Yemeni embassy in Britain. The letter expresses hopes for the speedy recovery of Shakaa and wishes that he would return safely to the homeland, in the wake of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him on 2 June of the same year.
