Published on 19 August 2000, this cover of al-Bayader as-Siyasi Magazine features a photograph of Bassam Shakaa hurling a stone towards an Israeli army post at the Lebanese borders with Palestine following Israel's withdrawal from south Lebanon, in addition to another photograph of him with Yasser Arafat, chairman of the Executive Committee of Palestine Liberation Organisation, in the course of his stay at a hospital to receive medical treatment, in the wake of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' attempt to assassinate him on 2 June 1980.
