Issued on 1 August 1980, this clipping from the Syrian al-Ba'ath newspaper reports on an interview with Bassam Shakaa entitled "Bassam Shakaa to al-Ba'ath: Syria is the Base of the Arab Nationalist Stand and the Guarantee for Meeting the Arab Masses' Aspirations and Goals". The interview tackled the issue of Jerusalem following the 1993 Oslo Accords between the Palestine Liberation Organisation and the Israeli Occupation and foreign interference in Palestinian affairs.
