Published in April 1982, these clippings from Asha'b newspaper feature four statements that were issued by Nablus Municipality during Bassam Shakaa's tenure as mayor. The statements are concerned with denouncing a number of Israeli assaults against Palestinian citizens, including the detention of Hussam Yaish, municipal secretary, along with the assaults against Balata and the al-Aqsa Mosque. A statement issued on 17 of the same month salutes Palestinian prisoners concurrently with Palestinian Prisoners’ Day.
