Salah Ayyad was one of the first unionists to join the Public Employees Union. He was also one of the first cadres of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, to later become one of the cadres of the Palestinian Democratic Union- FIDA. He died in 2011.

The Salah Ayyad Collection contains portraits and photographs of Salah Ayyad which document his visits during his party activism, as well as documents, including letters, certificates from the Red Cross, school certificates, a postgraduate graduation card from al-Quds University in 2009, a membership card in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jerusalem, official invitations, letters in addition to his obituary in November 2011.
