Sa'eed al-Husseini was born in Jerusalem in 1878. His great-grandfather, Hasan al-Husseini, was a mufti of Jerusalem until the beginning of the nineteenth century. Saeed al-Husseini was a political activist, who was elected as a deputy representing Jerusalem in the Ottoman Chamber of Deputies in 1908. He communicated the goals of the Zionist movement to the Ottoman Parliament, demanding the enactment of laws protecting Palestinian lands from being sold to outsiders. He passed away in Jerusalem in 1945.

The album is characterized by its accurate and comprehensive documentation of the various aspects of the social, cultural and artistic life in Jerusalem during that period. It includes many photographs and documents that reflect the life of the al-Husseini family and their role in society during the aforementioned period.
