DESCRIPTION

This is a diverse collection that contains many old historical documents and photographs. The documents are divided into three main sections, where the first includes what Botrous and Khalil Touma collected and preserved from documents related to their family, such as the birth and death book, the family tree, notes belonging to Ishaq Touma, and personal identification papers such as testimonies, land ownership papers, and sale and purchase deeds. The second section contains the letters of Botrous Touma in the diaspora to his nephew, Khalil, while the last section is related to Khalil Touma, and focuses on the stages of his studies, his writings, and his trade union and journalistic work, especially as an editor of the English version of al-Fajr Newspaper. The collection captures the life of the Touma family in the diaspora and Beit Jala in the early twentieth century until the early 1980s, as well as official and national occasions, such as the mock funeral of Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the reception of King Abdullah I of Jordan in 1949 in Beit Jala.
