Abdullah Alawneh is a Palestinian freedom fighter who enrolled in Birzeit University in 1983 to study history and humanities. During his university studies, Alawneh became involved in the student movement, joining the ranks of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement – Fateh. He was arrested in 1989 and released in 1990. Five days after his release, he suffered a severe heart attack, leading to his death.

The Abdullah Alawneh Collection contains several photographs and documents regarding his university life, partisan struggle and funeral. It includes photographs of stone pieces that he carved in during his imprisonment at "Ansar 3" Prison in Naqab, drawings related to Palestine, the letters that he sent to his family from prison, his memorial booklet, and a postcard.
