A Land Deed between Maryam Mahmud al-Khaṯib and Abdul-Wahhab al-Khatib
A handwritten land deed signed by Maryam Mahmud al-Khatib (the widow of the late Qasem Ṣaleh al-Hayek) selling four olive trees and the land they are planted on, commonly known as al-Mazar (the shrine), to Abdul-Wahhab al-Khatib. Five Jordanian postage stamps with the phrase "The Relief of Arab Palestinians" are pinned to the deed. The stamps were issued by the Arab League with all proceeds going to Palestinian people following reports on Jewish businessmen buying Palestinian lands for huge sums of money. The name of King Abdalla ibn al-Husain is written on top of the stamp followed by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the phrase "The Relief of Arab Palestinians." The stamps used photographs of al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock and the price of each stamp can be found on the sides of the stamp.
