"Lamma Injannaina", a Poster by Ṣunduq al-‘Ajab Headed by ʿĀdel at-Tartir

Entitled "Lamma Injannaina" (When We Went Insane), this poster promotes a production by Ṣunduq al-‘Ajab. Mixing the methods of Dababis (Pins) and Balalin (Balloons) troupes, the play presents social issues through traditional storytelling. The troupe is named after an old popular art form that used puppets to tell stories and bring joy to children as the master of the box travelled from town to town. Palestinian artist ʿĀdel at-Tartir is the pioneer who revived this art form and made it accessible to many people across Palestine.
