A paper clipping documenting the spelling of "Nahal Paran", a valley reaches from the northwest of the rugged Tell al-Mursharsh and extends over a length of 147 kilometres, of which 80 kilometres are in the Sinai Peninsula and 67 kilometres are in the Negev. The area of its basin is 3,840 sq km and is considered the largest dry valley in the country.
