Printed in al-Sharq al-Arabiya Press with Muhammad abu Labdeh as the managing editor and Siham al-Asaly as the senior editor, this 64-page document shows issue no. 53 of ash-Shiraa Magazine. Issued on 1 April 1983 with its cover and fonts crafted by Palestinian artist Adnan az-Zubaydy, the issue features news pieces and articles themed on Palestinian and Israeli politics, local investigations, and literature as follows: The Palestinian politics section includes a collection of articles as follows, "What Is It Arab Backwardness Wants from Us After their Failing Attempts At Our Unity" about the role of the United States of America, the Arab bourgeoisie and its allies in investing in the Lebanon War and the political situation therein at the time. An article entitled "Finally the Seven Committee Succeeded" on the success of the Seven Committee in presenting the draft of the Fes Peace Summit to the five permanent members of the Security Council after Britain rejected the presence of a representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization within the Committee and replaced it with a representative from the Jordanian regime. An article by Adel Samara entitled "The Possibilities of an Alternate Leadership" on the emergence of an alternative leadership for the PLO that supports the peaceful approach. The issue also features Israel's strategy during the 1980s to divide the Arab World into projects for Iran, Pakistan and Turkey and the division of Lebanon and Syria and the dismantling of Egypt. The local investigation section features an investigation of al-Makassed Hospital elections, a report on voluntary work at Birzeit University in Gaza, al-Auja and the new campus, an investigation into Carter's visit to ʾElyas Fraij, the mayor of Bethlehem, and a periodic report on the student movement in the Occupied Territories. The Israeli section features an article entitled "Moral and Political Responsibility Rests With the Government" on racism and religious extremism in Israel, a report on the Israeli presence in Lebanon, and a collection of other political topics in Israel. The literature and miscellaneous sections feature three articles, "A Clear Class Vision Via the Kasak Ya Watan Play (Cheers, O' Homeland)" about getting closer to reaching a progressive mass theatre, "Lessons in Partisan Journalism", and an article translated from Pravda Newspaper.
