Saleh abu Laban's Interview with the Palestinian Museum, 'Never Part' Exhibition, 2013
This video clip documents Saleh abu Laban's interview with the Palestinian Museum as part of the "Never Part" project. In this project, the museum aimed to collect stories related to highly cherished and valuable belongings preserved by Palestinians, which serve as epitomes of their connection to their homeland. Abu Laban sought refuge from the village of Zakaria in the district of Hebron in 1948 and currently resides in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem. He keeps his mother's bridal box, which she received when she got married in 1937. The box still contains some old belongings of the family, including a book documenting his grandfather's promotion to the rank of the Sheikh of Sufi movements in 1919.
