Two Photographs of al-Aqsa Mosque After the 1927 Earth Quake and the Excavations Near Bab al-Magharbeh
Two photographs stuck on a paper, the first shows al-Aqsa Mosque square and the entrance of al-Marwani Mosque after the earthquake that hit Palestine in 1927, the second shows a part of excavations in the area of the Buraq Wall and the area known as Bab al-Magharbeh Hill, where excavations started after the occupation of al-Quds (Jerusalem) in 1967. The excavations in this area showed a neighbourhood that dates back to the Abbasid era and some Islamic graves, and since these excavations showed remnants of the Umayyad, Abbasid, Ayyubid and Mamluk periods and nothing else, the Occupational authorities demolished those remnants and turned the place into a bus station.
